2008年2月8日到11日，世界冬泳锦标赛将在冬泳历史悠久的英国名城伦敦举行！

冬泳健身运动发源很早，最早始于哪个国家至今还没有确凿的证据说明。在我国冬泳始于实用，健身与娱乐，已有3000多年历史。随着冬泳运动的发展，越来越多的人加入了冬泳队伍。

国外的冬泳比赛更注重表演和娱乐，比赛规则也变化多样，不尽相同！而且每年都会在不同的国家举行世界冬泳锦标赛！我们期待并盼望着我们冬泳人以国家的名义参与世界性的冬泳赛事！

至此，我们会陆续不断的将一些国外及国内的冬泳图片和资料呈现给大家，希望大家在此同时能够将漏掉的资料补充进来，让我们对自己所热爱的冬泳运动有更多的了解！

美国的冬泳爱好者称自己为"北极熊"(polar bears,因为北极熊喜欢在冷水里游泳),北极熊冬泳俱乐部是美国最早成立的冬泳组织.

Hundreds of New Yorkers bravely splashed into cold ocean waters to start the new year in early January, including one man who ended up in a hospital.

Louie Scarcella, spokesman for the Coney Island Polar Bears, said the one man who was taken to Coney Island Hospital was not a member of the club, but just one of the 200 or so people who joined the 80 club members to take the yearly jump into the 9°C Atlantic Ocean waters.

The yearly swim raises money for a charity, Camp Sunshine, which takes care of seriously sick children and their families. This year, the swim raised US$25,000 (NT$800,000).

The turnout was less than the 500 people who swam last year.

Scarcella blamed the weather, saying, "Some people don't like the rain." Scarcella did not know how the one swimmer was injured. A hospital spokeswoman would not say much about his health.(AP)

一月初，數百名紐約客勇敢地跳進冰冷的海水展開新的一年，其中一名男子最後被送進醫院。

科尼島北極熊俱樂部發言人路易．史卡席拉表示，被送到往科尼島醫院的男子不是俱樂部的會員，只是一起參這場年度盛會的兩百多名民眾的其中一位，他們與八十名俱樂部會員一起縱身跳入攝氏九度的大西洋海水中。

這場年度游泳盛會是為照顧重病兒童和他們家庭的慈善團體「陽光營」募款，今年的游泳籌募到了兩萬五千美元。

今年參與人數少於去年參加游泳的五百人次。

史卡席拉怪罪天氣，指出「有些人不喜歡下雨」。史卡席拉不知道這名泳客如何受傷。醫院女發言人對這名泳客的健康情況不願多做表示。

In an average winter month, around four thousand swimmers plunge into the Polar Bears' spacious hole in the ice. The sport is definitely growing, and fast.

英国著名而历史悠久的冬泳俱乐部是位于伦敦市区内的Serpentine Swimming Club,成立于1864年，已有142年历史.详见海德向大家介绍一个有百年历史的冬泳俱乐部,在以前的帖子中也多有介绍.

冬泳在芬兰非常流行，参加人数之多可以和滑雪，滑冰等运动项目想媲美。芬兰人在冬泳过后大多喜欢进行桑拿，使身体接受冷热刺激，促进体内循环，从而达到健身的目的。

It"s been cold enough over the last weeks that the lakes have frozen and the ice on them is about 20cm thick. So tonight, rather nervously, we went to a public sauna down by the lake and prepared to go for a dip in an ice hole. We sat and sweated in the sauna for a while first, building our body temperatures up, then anxiously made our way down the path to the lake. The water felt arctic as I held onto the frozen ropes and stepped into it - cold enough to take your breath away, and then I was up to my neck in it with ice covering everywhere but the hole I was in. After a few seconds I decided that I should get out and make room for Carita to get in, but getting out was almost as painful as getting in. Carita went in, and judging from the screams, she was a bit more used to it than me; then we rushed back up to the lovely, hot sauna.

Sitting back in the warmth I could feel my skin tingling all over - it"s supposed to be very good for your circulation, and slowly the feeling returned to my body. Then we went back out and did it all over again. Afterwards, all of our muscles felt very relaxed, and mentally we were relaxed too - really just happy to be alive after it. Apparently, there"s also a 25m swimming competition in a frozen lake here. The Finns really are quite crazy people.

文章大意：天气变的很冷的时候，湖水已经结了20多厘米厚的冰，选择一个时间，非常急切的和朋友到有桑拿的湖边进行冬泳活动。首先，我们坐在桑拿室内使身体出汗，然后立即将身体浸入被凿了一个冰窟窿的湖里面，这时我会有一种被冻的喘不上气的感觉，这时将头抬起，但身体仍然在冰水里，待了几秒钟，我决定出水，但感觉出水和进水同样痛苦。轮到Carita浸入冰水里的时候，发出了尖叫的声音，感觉她比我痛苦的多，然后我们一起迫不及待的进入桑拿室内。
返回到温暖的室内，我感到身体的每个毛孔都有刺痛的感觉，但应该对身体的循环会起到一个很好的作用。就这样循环反复，不断刺激身体，你会觉得全身的肌肉都很放松，身心得到愉快！

早在1922年，俄罗斯侨民、东正教教徒在哈尔滨松花江江面上举行过一次古老的活动---约旦洗礼节。他们在封冻的江面上挖了个圆形的冰窟窿，叫“圣水池”，先让主祭司用圣水刷蘸洒头顶，然后便换上泳衣裤相继跳下带冰碴的圣水池涮一涮，即刻出水。并用瓶子装上圣水带回去治病祛邪。以后，每年1月19日都举办一次，对国人影响甚大。俄罗斯冬泳历史有可能起源于宗教.
